If you spin fire by night, what do you do during the day?
Web Developer and Graphic Designer
What drew you to the art of fire dancing?
The art of being able to lose oneself and feel complete.
At what point in your life did you decide that playing with fire was a good idea?
I’ve been spinning and playing with fire since January 2008 and plan to be doing this well into retirement. I had first seen and tried fire dancing in South Africa in 2004 but never really tried it until I came to Dubai.
What is your happiest or scariest moment of fire dancing?
My happiest moments have never left; they will always be there when I light up with friends and those closest to me.
Most memorable fire show?
Being surprised at a desert gig when we were told that we’d be performing with Macy Grey and Kellis, and then actually meeting them later that night.
How do you spend your time when not playing with fire?
I would probably be sitting at home bored or causing havoc in the streets of Dubai.
Tools of the trade?
I use poi (single cathedrals), triple poi (three heads on each chain), staff, the orb, fire breathing and fire eating.
